Every two years Mifflintown Hose Company along with units and personnel from Central Juniata EMS,
Port Royal EMS, Medic 1, and Medic 29 put on a "mock DUI crash" for the junior and senior classes of
Juniata High School a few days before their prom to show the adverse effects of drinking and driving.
The students that act as "patients" are part of the local Student Against Drunk Driving (S.A.D.D.) club
along with a little aid of some make up and fake blood, the students and fire and EMS put on a good
show for the onlooking class. We hope that by putting on these demonstrations every two years, that the
students remember what could happen and decided not to do any drinking, let alone driving while drunk.
