Initial dispatch @ 1530 - Co 2, 3, 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, EMS 20 were dispatched to Empire Kosher for a fire in the cook room, building being evacuated. Units responded and arrived on scene with nothing showing from the exterior. Upon investigation, the fire was extinguished before fire department arrival. Cheif 21-3 held the box to Co 2, 3, 1, EMS 20, all other units available. A walk-through of the building was done with no extension found. Box available.

Initial dispatch @ 2032 - Co 4, Co 2, EMS 4, EMS 8, Medic 1 dispatched to Rt 35 and Oakland Rd for a vehicle accident. Reported one vehicle though a fence. EMS personnel on scene placing Medic 1 in service. Chief 41 arrived on scene having R29 to the scene for lighting, E22 to stage. Co 2 units were on scene for approx 15 minutes and were placed in service by Chief 41.

Working structure fire in the borough

Initial dispatch @ 2053 - Co 2, 3, 1, Tanker Co 5, EMS 20 dispatched to Mifflintown Borough for a structure fire, reported appartment fire with entrapment. Units responded within seconds, arrived within seconds with fire and heavy smoke pushing from division two, unknown if anyone was still in the building. Engine 32-2's crew had a handline already inside, Engine 22's crew entered for S&R. Fire extinguished extremely quickly be E22's crew. Truck 27's crew went to division 3 to check for extension and any patients. No patients were inside the building. Later, one female was taken to the hospital via Amb 20-5-2 and Medic 29 for rapid pulse and smoke inhalation. Fire placed under control at 2118. Extenuous overhaul was done by units on scene and all hot spots extinguished. All hands working. Fire contained to one building, division two. All units cleared of the fire at 2230. Chief 21-3 had command of the fire.

Truck 27 responds for chimney fire, assisting Co 8

Initial dispatch @ 0906 - Co 8, Co 2 Truck, EMS 8 dispatched to Old Rt 22 West of the Village of Center for working chimney fire. Reported fire in the chimney, smoke pushing around the chimney and out the eaves. Chief 81-3 requested Co 6 dispatched for manpower - no response. Truck 27 went to work finding a completely blocked chimney with heavy fire within. Chains were dropped through, chimney was cleaned. Units working for approx 1 hour. Box cleared.

Initial dispatch @ 0956 - Co 7, 5, Truck from 2, EMS 22 dispatched to Lack Twp, 1 mile south of Cross Keys for a 1st alarm structure fire. Second call-back stating 1 mile north of Cross Keys. Units from Juniata, Huntingdon and Franklin Counties responded. Engine 52 first on scene with light smoke showing. Replacement units for Co 7 were dispatched accordingly. E52 then held E52 and Tanker 53 to the scene, all other apparatus to stage on blacktop. Franklin Co E12-2 on scene with TIC.

Co 2 responds on a chimney fire

Initial dispatch @ 1722 - Co 2, EMS 1 dispatched to Walker Twp, Wagner Rd, local alarm for chimney fire. E22 arrived on scene with light smoke showing. E22's crew extinguished fire in the stove while T27's crew went in service and worked the chains and cleaned debris from the chimney. Units on scene for approximately 45 minutes. Box cleared.

Co 2 responds assisting PSP with debris on the roadway

Initial dispatch @ 2220 - Co 2 dispatched non-emergency, assisting PSP, to Rt 35, approx 100 yards past Central Juniata EMS's station for debris removal. E22 arrived on scene with round bails on the roadway, vehicles involved. R29 responded for oil dry and extra equipment and lighting. PSP was notified there was more round bails on the roadway at the square in Mifflintown. Roadway cleared and box placed available @ 2311.
