09/30/08
-Rescue 2 dispatched to assist Co 1, Port Royal FD, on Rt 75 end of Chicken Plant Rd for an MVC with heavy pin. Rescue 2 arrived on scene and the assignment was changed to recovery. Patient was DOA. One vehicle, off the roadway, into a pole - uprooted, vehicle rolled over, single patient heavily entangled. Thoughts and prayers to friends and family of the patient. ( Pictures: 1 2 3 4 )

-Co 2 dispatched to establish a landing zone at Mifflintown Airport for EMS 20/Medic 29 for a sports injury from Juniata High School. Patient reported to be in and out of consciousness, in seizures.


09/28/08
-Co 2, EMS 20, Medic 29 dispatched to US Hwy 322 E/B between Mifflintown and Port Royal for an MVC. Reported 3 vehicles, unknown injuries, recieved two calls. Units proceeded both east and westbound from Mifflintown and Arch Rock finding no crash. Box was cleared by Chief 2-2.

09/22/08
-Co 2, 1 Tanker, EMS 20 dispatched to US Hwy 322 E/B, west of Port Royal for a tractor trailer fire. Engine 2 arrived on scene with a tractor separated from the trailer, tractor brakes on fire, fire crawling up the back of the cab. Engine 2 deployed 2 - 1 3/4" handlines and quickly knocked down the fire. Tanker 1 supplied Engine 2 and control was marked shortly thereafter. Units: Engine 2, Tanker 1, Amb 20-3


09/21/08
-Co 2, 1st alarm units, EMS 20 dispatched to Mifflintown Borough, Lemon Street beside the church, for a structure fire. Smoke showing from 3+ blocks away. Engine 2 tagged the plug at 3rd and Bridge and laid 5" into the scene. Truck 2 set up on 3rd street. Fire located to the B side of the structure. 2 - 1 3/4" handline deployed off Engine 2 and a quick knockdown of the fire and overhaul was performed immediately thereafter. Walkthrough of the house to check for extension - negative findings. Box was held to Co 2, 1, EMS 20.

-Co 2, EMS 20 dispatched to Old Rt 22 near Cameo Kitchens for an MVC. Units on scene with a single vehicle into a utility pole. Pt refusing EMS. Taken into custody by PSP.

09/20/08
-Co 2, EMS 1/Medic 1 dispatched to US Hwy 322 W/B, east of Port Royal for an MVC, reported 2 vehicles, unknown injuries. Capt 2 on scene reporting negative injuries, debris and fluids down. Engine 2 staged at Port Royal on ramp E/B. Units: Engine 2, Rescue 2, MICU 1-1.

-Co 2, Co 1 Tanker, EMS 20 dispatched to US Hwy 322 E/B, east of Mifflintown for a vehicle fire. Reported a tractor-trailer with heavy smoke coming from the trailer area. Engine 2 and Tanker 1 traveled both lanes of US Hwy 322 finding nothing. Chief 2 called in stating he was following a T/T that was pushing heavy exhaust out it's stacks, negative fire. Engine 2 cleared the box, nothing found.

09/19/08
-Engine 2 dispatched to assist Co 7, East Waterford, for a structure fire, Lack Twp, Rt 35, 2 miles south of Cross Keys. Reported A/C unit on fire in the structure. Second call back reports flames from the window. Units on scene with a quick knock down. Engine 2 established fill site for tankers - only filled one.
Units: Engine: 7, 5, 1-1, 2, FC12. Tankers: 1, PC3, FC12. Utility 4. Rehab 20.


09/18/08
-Co 2, EMS 20 dispatched to Mifflintown Borough near the youth center for an MVC into a pole. Chief 2 on scene reporting one vehicle into a pole, minor damage to pole, PP&L can check the pole at their convenience. Box cleared shortly after. Units: Engine 2, Rescue 2, Amb 20-3


09/17/08
-Engine 2 dispatched to establish a landing zone for EMS 22/Medic 1 for an MVC patient. Helicopter unable to land at airport due to visibilty problems but found a clear spot near the local water tower off Brubaker road. Helicopter landed in the field, Pt loaded and transported to Hershey Medical Center. LZ operations cleared.

-Co 2 was dispatched in place of Co 3, Mifflin, to Rt 35 near Video Alley for trees down, cancelled prior to response by Chief 3-3.


09/14/08
-Engine 2 dispatched to assist Co 3, Mifflin, on a wild fire, Rt 333 west, 1/2 mile from the county line. Units could not locate any fire on 333. Mifflin County units were being dispatched at the same time to Rt 333 for the same thing. After conversing with Mifflin County units, the had a small fire well inside their territory that was extinguished so Chief 2 cleared the box. When units were returning, Mifflin County advised Engine 2 of a report of someone burning a large amount of wire on the side of the mountain near the cell phone tower on Rt 333 in Juniata County. Engine 2, Brush 3, Mifflin County Utility 15-1 responded. Brush 3 and MC Utility 15-1 proceeded to the top of the mountain, found the wire pile, extinguished the blaze and requested PSP due to amount and guage of wire - a normal person would not have this much and type - suspect had fled scene prior to fire department arriving. Brush 3 held the box to their unit only, Engine 2 and MC Utility 15-1 available.

09/13/08
-Co 2 and EMS 1 were dispatched to Helltown Rd for trees and wires down, reported with fire. EMS 20 dispatched in place of EMS 1. Units on scene with trees and wires down - still hot, arching and had the tree on fire. Units: Engine 2, Amb 20-2

-Co 2, EMS 20 dispatched to Arch Rock Rd for an oven fire. Caller stated there was an oven fire, neighbor extinguished fire but would like fire department to come investigate.

-Co 2, 1st alarm fire, EMS 20 dispatched to Family House Restaraunt for an Automatic Fire Alarm. Unit's arrived on scene, nothing showing, investigated, nothing found, box cleared.

09/11/08
-Co 2, EMS 20, Medic 29 dispatched to Butcher Shop Road for a construction accident. Reported construction worker run over by a skid steer with obvious leg fracture, air medical on standby. Chief 2 on scene holding box to EMS, FD placed available.

09/06/08
-Co 2, EMS 20, Medic 1 dispatched to Walker Twp, Chicken Plant Rd, MVC, possible head injury. Units arrived on scene, Capt 2 had command, switching units to Fire 2.

-Co 2, EMS 20, Medic 29, Medic 1 dispatched to Fermanagh Twp, area of McDonalds for an MVC involving a motorcycle. Reported two patients, both class one, possibly run over by a truck. Medic 29 requesting helicopter to fly immediately upon arrival. Medic 29 inquiring if the helo would fly a trauma arrest - negative - transported Pt to Lewistown Hospital. Medic 1 dispatched for second Pt. Second Pt transported to Mifflintown Airport and flown to Hershey Medical Center. Thoughts and Prayers go out to the family and everyone involved.

-Rescue 2 establishes an LZ at Mifflintown Airport for Amb 22-1 and Medic 29. Patient with head bleed.

09/04/08
-Engine 2 dispatched, assisting Co 4, Fayette Twp, for a structure fire, reported large shed with hay and equipment inside.Chief 4 arrived on scene with a large building, well involved, requesting 2nd alarm tankers, a truck and additional engine. Ended up being a barn fire. Lots of hay and farm equipment.

-Truck 2 dispatched, assisting Co 4 on the structure fire.
