Heavy Entrapment MVC in Richfield. (1hr 19min extrication)

Initial dispatch @ 1858 - Co 9, EMS 9, Co 2 (Rescue), Medic 29 dispatched to Lauver Valley Rd for an MVC possible entrapment. Chief 91-2 first on scene with one vehicle into a tree, heavy entrapment, requesting helicopter to fly. Due to the position of the car and the position of the patient in the car the extrication was very prolonged (1hr 19min total). Pt was then extricated, taken to the landing zone via Ambulance 95-1 and Medic 29 and transported to Hershey Medical Center via Life Lion helicopter. Rescue 29 returned, serviced all tools that were used and returned to service.

Rt 35 MVC near Mayes Trucking

Initial dispatch @ 2011 - Co 4, EMS 4, Co 2 (Engine) dispatched to Fayette Twp, Rt 35 near Mayes Trucking for a vehicle accident, reported one vehicle into the field unkown injuries. Engine 22 arrived on scene, Chief 21-3 assumed command and switched Ops to Fire 2. Engine 62 was dispatched @ 2016 to replace Engine 42, Chief 21-3 placed Co 6 available. Units on scene for a good while until fire personnel could successfully round up the cows that got out from the vehicle going through the fence. Chief 21-3 placed the box available afterwards.

Afternoon Multi-vehicle accident in the narrows

Initial dispatch @ 1448 - Co 2, EMS 2, Medic 29 dispatched to Fermanagh Twp, US Hwy 322 W/B in the narrows for a vehicle accident with injuries. Units arrived on scene to find three vehicle, chain collision. MHC personnel assisted EMS packaging patients. Three patients transported BLS to Lewistown Hospital, Medic 29 available. Box cleared shortly after last patient was transported.

Two vehicle accident in McAlisterville, 5 transported

Initial dispatch @ 1448 - Co 4, EMS 4, Co 6 (Engine), EMS 20 (2 units), EMS 8 (1 unit), Medic 29 dispatched to Rt 35 North by Sal's OIP. Reported two vehicles with injuries, unknown extent. Medic 29 requested a second medic en route then arrived on scene, gave scene sizeup, and requested a fifth BLS unit (MICU 15-1 fulfilled both). Rescue 29 was dispatched prior to Medic 29 arriving o/s due to multiple calls and conflicting reports of entrapment. No entrapment but Rescue 29 continued to scene and aided in packing of patients. All patients transported to Lewistown Hospital for evaluation, 2 ALS and 3 BLS. Rescue 29 returned to service shortly after last patient was transported to the hospital.
