08/31/08
-Capt 2-2 reporting a field fire on Britcher Drive, requesting 1st alarm plus addition brush unit. Co 2, 1, 4, EMS 20 dispatched. Units arrived on scene with approx 1 arce on fire, woods partially involved. Engine 2's crew stretched 2 - 200' 1-3/4" handlines and knocked down the fire quickly. Tanker 1 supplied Engine 2. Brush 1 and 4 brought personnel to help mop-up. Units on scene for approximately 1 hour.

08/26/08
-Co 2, 1, EMS 20 dispatched to US Hwy 322 east at the off ramp to Rt 75 for an MVC. Units arrived on scene finding a tractor-trailer hauling a bulldozer. Dozer rolled off the trailer. Co 1 available, no injuries. Geedey's heavy-duty wrecker rolled the dozer over, box cleared. ( Pictures: 1 2 3 4 5 )

-Engine 2 established a landing zone for EMS 20/Medic 29. Reported 29 y/o male had his arm caught in a machine at Empire Kosher Poultry plant. Extremity trauma.


08/23/08
-Co 2, 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, EMS 20 dispatched to Mifflintown Borough, Taskforce Assignment, 200 Lemon Street (apartment building) reported structure fire in the rear appartment. The call was received through Mifflin County 911 Center. Engine 2 arriving on scene with light smoke from the rear appartment. Units to reduce rate upon response. Electrical problem found to be the problem, all appartments were cleared, land lord on scene, box cleared within 45 minutes.

-Co 2, 1, EMS 1 dispatched to Village of Mexico, behind Mexico Video and Pizza for a brush fire. Units arrived on scene to find a trash fire turned into a brush fire. Units made quick work of the fire.

-Co 2 and EMS 1 dispatched to Rt 75 and US Hwy 322 east for an MVC. Units arrived on scene with two vehicle, rear-end collision, no injuries. PSP and roll-back arrived. Box cleared in approximately 30 minutes. (Pictures: 1 2 )

-Co 2 assist Co 3, Mifflin, in Milford Twp on a working vehicle fire. Engine 2 arrived on scene with a pick-up truck, well involved. Engine 2's crew stretched a single 200' 1-3/4" handline and made quick work of the fire. Fire under control within 3 minutes of Engine 2 arriving on scene. Box cleared.

-Co 2, EMS 20 dispatched to 33 N. Main St, Mifflintown Borough, for flooding. Sink faucet broke, unable to shut off water at sink. Water shut off into house very hard to locate. Water was shut off, land lord arrived on scene. Fire and EMS cleared.

-Co 2, EMS 20 dispatched to PennWood Development, Mulberry Drive for a CO detector activation. Co 8 requested for the CO meter. Box cleared thereafter.

-Co 2, 1, 4, 8, EMS 20 dispatched to Fermangh Twp, Cedar Spring Rd for a structure fire. Capt 2 on scene with a controlled burn behind a barn, clearing the box.

-Co 2, EMS 20 dispatched to Mifflintown Borough, Washington Ave and 7th Street for an MVC.Capt 2-3 on scene holding the box to Rescue 2. One patient transported BLS for evaluation. Box cleared.

-Co 2, EMS 1 dispatched to Juniata Junction for a dumpster fire. Firepolice 1 on scene, fire out. Capt 2-3 having units proceed non-emergency. Box cleared shortly after.

-Co 2, 1, 4, 8, EMS 20 dispatched to Family House Restaraunt for an Automatic Fire Alarm. Engine 2 arrived on scene with normal conditions from the exterior. Holding the box to Co 2, 1, and EMS. Box cleared shortly thereafter by Chief 2.

-Co 2, 1, EMS 1/Medic1 dispatched to US Hwy 322 W/B approx 1 mile west of Port Royal for an MVC. Reported vehicle down over an enbankment, unknown injuries. Units arrived on scene to find one vehicle over an embankment, no injuries, Co 1 placed available.

-Co 2 dispatched at 0655 on 1st alarm assignment in Milford Twp, Orchard Hills Apt's for a working structure fire. Company 3, Company 2, Company 1, Company 4, Company 5 (Engine), Company 6 (Tanker), Company 8 (Engine-Tanker), and EMS Company 20 (BLS-Rehab) due. 1st caller stated smoke showing, 2nd caller stated working fire. Truck 27 venting the roof, Engine 52 setting up fillsite at Jacks Drive In. all other units are to stage at the entrance of orchard hills. 0725: fire placed under control. 0731: all companys available except 1,2,4. -Co 2 dispatched assisting Co 3, Mifflin, on a trailer fire in Mifflin Borough. Units arrived on scene with nothing showing from the exterior. After investigation of the inside of the residence, found a light smoke condition which was caused from the owner falling asleep with a lit cigarette in bed. Residence was ventilated and box was cleared.

-Engine 2 dispatched assisting Co 4, Fayette, on an MVC involving a tractor-trailer. Cancelled en route

-Co 2, EMS 20, Medic 29 dispatched to US Hwy 322, westbound, past Arch Rock exit for an MVC. Reported tractor-trailer, roll over, unknown injuries. Amb 20-3 on scene, left lane blocked, right lane partially blocked, driver self-extricated, minor injuries, Medic 29 to be placed available. Units arrived on scene and began traffic control. PSP, PennDOT, DEP, Juniata EMS, Eagle Haz-Mat, Geedey Towing, Maze Towing all on scene. Box finally cleared at 2147. (Dispatch time was 1527.) ( Pictures: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 )
