Ladder 27 dispatched, assisting on a structure fire on Old Rt 22

Initial dispatch @ 0714 - Ladder 27 dispatched on box 804 to Old Rt 22, 1 mile east of Thompsontown, for a structure fire. Ladder 27 arrived on scene, due to some difficult rig placement, the ladder was sidelined and all manpower reported to Chief 81. Three members of the truck company went to work venting the roof on the C side of the structure, while others went interior and attacked what fire there was on side C, division 1. Fire was extinguished and extensive overhaul was done to check for any extension due to the make-up of the house (old logs) and its age. Ladder 27 was released at 1030, other units remaining on scene for mop up. (PICTURES)

Inital dispatch @ 1103 - Ladder 27 dispatched on box 401 to Rt 235 assisting on a structure fire, reported working kitchen fire. Engine 42 arrived on scene reporting smoke showing. Ladder 27 arrived, staged, sent manpower to scene. Engine 82-1 to set up fill site (never needed). Co 4 personnel extingished what small fire there was inside while Ladder 27 personnel checked for extension on the outside walls and other personnel checked inside. Control was marked @ 1213. The TIC was used to assess the inside further. Ladder 27 was placed available @ 1249. Owner was transported to Lewistown Hospital, ALS, for burns to the arms and SOB.

Engine 22 and Rescue 29 arrived on scene with one vehicle into the jersey barriers, one male Pt with a possible neck injury. Box cleared @ 1757. One patient transported ALS to Lewistown Hospital.

Inital dispatch @ 2154 - Rescue 29 dispatched, assiting on a vehicle accident with entrapment on West Fall Hill reported one vehicle, overturned, with a child trapped in the vehicle. Rescue 29 responded with 5. Chief 61 arrived on scene, no entrapement. Rescue 29 placed available and all other units to reduce their rates. No patients transported.

Initial dispatch @ 2210 - Co 2, EMS 20 dispatched to the area of 55 Britcher Drive for reported tree on wires, wires to be arching. Rescue 29 was returning from the MVC and responded immediately. Engine 22 responded shortly thereafter with 4. LT 21 on scene unable to find anything, homeowner stated he just wanted someone to know about it in case something happened, did not want fire department. Box placed in service @ 2227.

Initial dispatch @ 0010 - Rescue 29 dispatched on the 301 box assisting Co 3 on a vehicle accident, roll-over, into a field, possibly one person trapped. Rescue 29 arrived on scene to find one vehicle in the middle of a vehicle, single operator out of the vehicle. Pt was transported to Lewistown Hospital via MICU 15-1. CMD 3 placed Rescue 29 available shortly thereafter.

Initial dispatch @ 1335 - Co 2 dispatched to assist Co 8 on a reported working barn fire in Walker Twp on Jonestown Rd. Initial call stated working barn fire. Tanker 83 arrived on scene reporting a working fire due to smoke showing from all corners of the structure. Co 2 responded assisting on the call. Units from Co 8 arrived on scene, investigating. Chief 81 found smoke to be a few hay bails smoldering, no fire, holding the box to Co 8 and EMS 8, all other units in service.

Initial dispatch @ 1225 - Co 2, EMS 20, Medic 29, Medic 1 dispatched to Rt 22 near Lauver's Garage for an MVC. Reported two vehicles with injuries. Engine 22 and Rescue 29 arrived on scene with vehicles on the roadway, one telephone pole sheared off. Two patients transported ALS to Lewistown Hospital via Ambulance 20-5-2 and MICU 15-1. PennDOT and PPL arrived to control the scene and fix the sheared off utility pole. Box placed in service at 1320.

Initial dispatch @ 0822 - Co 2, EMS 1 dispatched to Rt 22 and 75 at the blinking light for an MVC, debris and fluids down, unknown injuries. Engine 22 and Rescue 29 arrived on scene to find two vehicles still on the roadway, one vehicle with front end damage and fluids down. Vehicles were both drivable and, per PSP, the cars were moved to the side of the road. Oil Dry was placed down on the fluids and the box was cleared by Chief 21 at 0832.

Initial dispatch @ 2132 - Co 3, Co 2 (Rescue 29), EMS 20 (2 ambulances), Medic 29 dispatched to Rt 35 in front of Jack's Drive In for a MVC, reported head-on, unknown injuries. Capt 21 on scene with two vehicles, on the roadway, debris and fluids down, checking on injuries. Three patients total - one Pt transported via Amb 20-5-1 w/ Medic 29 to Lewistown with chest pains, one Pt transported via Ambulance 20-5-3 w/ Medic 1 to Lewistown with facial injuries, one patient transported by Ambulance 20-5-2 to Lewistown Hospital with a broken arm. Rescue 29 was released by Chief 31 at 2210.

Initial dispatch @ 0802 - Co 2, EMS 20, Medic 29 were dispatched to the River Bridge for a multi-vehicle accident, unknown injuries. Medic 29 arrived on scene for a 4-car rear-end chain collision, one minor injury. Engine 22 and Rescue 29 arrived on scene and conducted traffic control until the vehicles were removed from the roadway. The first three vehicles were driven off the roadway into a local parking lot per PSP and the last vehicle was placed on a roll-back and taken away. One patient was transported BLS by Ambulance 20-5-2 to Lewistown Hospital for evaluation. Oil dry was placed down, scene was cleaned up and Chief 21 cleared the box at 0840.

Initial dispatch @ 2354 - Co 2, EMS 20 were dispatched to Rt 322 E/B lane just west of the Mifflintown exit for a motorcycle accident. Reported one motorcycle, two patients up walking around. Operator swerved to miss a deer. Units responded shortly after dispatch. County advised a second caller states operator might have got back on the motorcycle and left the scene. Nothing found. Box placed available at 0005.

Co 2 dispatched to a vehicle accident with fire on Old 22

Initial dispatch @ 2011 - Co 2, EMS 20, Medic 29 were dispatched to Old Rt 22 near The Little Store for a vehicle accident, reported two vehicles, head-on, unknown injuries. LT 21 on scene with a passenger car with an engine compartment fire. Engine 22 and Rescue 29 arrived on scene to find one vehicle in the middle of the roadway. The fire in the engine compartment was knocked down by a person dry chemical fire extinguisher of a by-stander. An 1 3/4" hose line was pulled from E22 and the engine compartment was doused for several minutes, monitored and then cleared. PSP and the rollback were on scene, removed the vehicle, and Chief 21-3 placed the box in service at 2108.

Initial dispatch @ 2150 - Co 2 was dispatched, assisting on the 4 box, for an unknown type fire outside. Engine 22 and Ladder 27 responded approx 1 minute after dispatch due to members just cleaning up from the MVC w/ fire they just returned from. Ladder 27 was the first unit on scene reported large volume of fire and smoke coming from behind a building, personnel investigating. Found out to be a LARGE pile of wood on fire. Due to the burn-ban in Juniata County, the fire had to be extinguished. Engine 22 pulled into the scene and Engine 42 reverse laid a 3" supply line out to the hard top where a tanker shuttle dump site was established. Engine 62 established a fill-site for the tankers at the golf course. After a long while of trying to douse the blaze, the owner of the property stated he would watch whatever fire was left and that fire apparatus could return. Chief 41-3 placed the box in service at 2314 and all units returned.

Initial dispatch @ 0110 - Co 2, EMS 20 were dispatched to 322 area of the Mifflintown Exit for a possible MVC. Call came through Perry County stating caller thinks they were near the Mifflintown Exit, reported roll-over, unknown injuries. While units were responding to the call, Perry County called back advising MVC was in Perry County near the Newport Exit, units could cancel. Box placed available @ 0119.

Engine 22 responds to possible car fire in the early morning hours

Initial dispatch @ 0325 - Co 2, EMS 1 were dispatched to the village of Mexico, past the Post Office, for a car fire. Engine 22 arrived on scene with a passenger car with its horn blowing. The vehicle had an electrical short behind the dash. The battery was disconnected, the dash was taken off to check for any fire. Box was cleared by Chief 21 @ 0357.

Co 2 responds to a chimney fire on Old Rt 22

Initial dispatch @ 1625 - Co 2 and EMS 1 were dispatched to Old Rt 22, 2 houses past the Shoffstalls intersection for a chimney fire. Personnel went to work extinguishing the fire and then cleaning out the chimney. A new record of debris from a chimney for Co 2 was achieved: 10 wheel barrow loads! The house was examined for extension and Chief 21 cleared the box @ 1910.

Initial dispatch @ 1300 - Juniata County struck a 1st alarm assignment on Center Road off Old Rt 22 reported saw mill. Engine 22 and Ladder 27 were due on the box. A second alarm was struck while units were en route to the scene. Tanker shuttles were put into place, along with elivated master stream from Ladder 27. The fire was quickly contained for the amount of area involved and the wind at the time. Three buildings were involved and burnt down. One firefighter was transported to Lewistown Hospital for a possible pulled muscle.

Initial dispatch @ 0828 - Co 2, EMS 20, Medic 1 dispatched to Main and Cedar Streets for a vehicle accident with unknown injuries. Foreman 20-4-1 arrived on scene and placed Medic 1 available. Engine 22 and Rescue 29 arrived on scene with two vehicles partially on the roadway result of a rear-end collision. The striking vehicle had moderate front-end damage and was leaking fluids. Oil dry was placed down. PSP arrived on scene along with roll-back. Scene was cleared at 0919 by Capt 21.

Initial dispatch @ XXXX - Engine 22 was OOS for approx 2 weeks having engine work done. It arrived back in the station later in the evening. The "Hawg Dawg" wasn't in the station but 30 minutes and Co 2 and EMS 1 were dispatched to Mexico Markets for a pedestrian struck. Engine 22 and Rescue 29 arrived on scene to find MICU 15-2 o/s tending to the Pt. PSP arrived on scene and fire apparatus were placed available. Pt was transported to Lewistown Hospital for evaluation.
