03/26/09 - Burnt food causes smokey conditions
19:28 - EMS 20 & Medic 29 were sent to Mifflintown Boro, 103 N. Main Street, for patient in seizures. Medic 29 arrived to find light smoke on Division 1, requesting FD for ventilation. Truck 27 marked out with 6, Chief 21-2 (Leiter) in the seat. Engine 22 marked out with 6, Chief 21-3 (K. Boreman) in the seat, and staged at the hydrant at Lemon & N. Main while T27 crew investigated. Truck crew found burnt pizza in the microwave, no extension. Residence ventilated, box cleared. (Seizure pt transported to LH)

03/25/09 - Very dry conditions keep wild fires burning
05:09 - Engine 22 was dispatched to assist units already en route to a reported wild fire, Fayette Twp - on Mountain Rd just west of Laurel Run Rd. Box 4-04. Engine 22 marked out with 6, Chief 21-2 (Leiter) in the seat, Command 4 (Chief 41-2 Waite) directed E22 to the scene, all manpower to the scene to work a fire line. E22 and crew were o/s approx 1 hr

11:45 - Co 2, Co 1, EMS 20 sent to Fermanagh Twp, Old Rt 22 beside The Little Store. for a reported grass fire. Box 2-01. Engine 22 marked out with 5, Chief 21-2 (Leiter) on board. JCCC reported a small grass fire beside the store, caller thought they were trying to out it out. E22 arrived with a small fire, crew mopped up and was in service within 30 mins.

13:42 - Co 3, 2, 5, 1, 20 dispatched to Milford Twp, Rt 333 at the top of the Denholm mountain, for a reported wild fire. Box 3-03. Engine 22 marked out with 5, Chief 21-2 (Leiter) in the seat. JCCC advised of numerous calls reporting fire on the side of the mountain, smoke visible from Rockville. E22 was first to arrive and Chief 21-2 established command - asked for Dept of Forestry and additional tankers and brush trucks from Mifflin Co. E22 deployed 150' of 3" with water thief, down the embankment - along with 2 hand lines to put a hit on the fire. Brush units started to arrive and fire was "lined" and contained. 1 person was taken to Lewistown Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation/over-exertion. Units o/s approx 1 1/2 hrs - the MC Wildland folks stayed o/s until the DCNR people arrived

03/24/09 - Wild Fire in Co 4's territory starts the day for the 2 house
14:20 - Co 4, Co 2 Engine, Co 6 Tankers, EMS 4 dispatched to Fayette Twp, Laurel Run Rd for wild fire. Engine 22 marked out with 6, Chief 21-2 (Leiter) in the seat. Reported to be near K&M Sales. Units arrived on scene with a small wild fire approximately 1/8 acre involved. Tanker 43 and Brush 46 on scene just before Engine 22. Crews made quick work of the fire. Engine 22 supplied Tanker 43 with their tank water and then moved from the driveawy and allowed Tanker 13 (who was replacing Co 6's tanker) to pull in and feed Tanker 43. Engine 82-1 (who was replacing Co 4's Engine) established a fill site at a pond approximately 100 yards away. Fire extinguished, all units topped off with water and box was cleared.

03/23/09 - Morning starts with chimney fire on Helltown Rd
07:57 - Co 2, Co 1 dispatched to Walker Twp, intersection of Helltown Rd & Deerville Rd, for a reported chimney fire. Box 2-02. Engine 22 marked out with 5, Chief 21-3 (K. Boreman) in the seat. MICU 15-3 arrived o/s and reported a 2 story SFD with light smoke from the chimney. Truck 27 went in service and worked the roof/chimney, Eng 22/12-1 crews worked interior and ground. Chimney was very dirty and needed some attention. Crews cleaned the chimney, (-) extension. Units o/s approx 1 hr

18:52 - Co 2, 1, 4, 6, 20 units dispatched to Fermanagh Twp, Cleck Rd - Valley Protein - for a reported building fire. Box 2-05. Engine 22 marked out with 5, Chief 21-2 (Leiter) in the seat. JCCC reported this to be at the lower plant, fire showing. Chief 21 (Zimmerman) arrived and reported a working building fire and a well off vehicle fire. E22 was first in and laid 5" back to Side A of the fire building. (The fire building was attached to rest of the plant). E22 crew split, deployed 2 - 200' 1 3/4" hand lines. The 1st line knocked a bulk of the fire down on the exterior, then mopped up the pick-up truck that was burning. A 2nd line was stretched interior, where crews knocked down the fire on Division 1 and Division 2, no extension into the operations section of the plant. Tanker 63-1 & Tanker 13 supplied E22, E12-2 had fill site at Weaver's Pond, all other units staged and manpower sent to scene for overhaul. Embers from the incinerator ignited the pick-up truck, which was parked close to the building - the pick-up truck was fully involved, which extended into Side D of the building. Workers did manage to move the pick-up with a forklift, but the fire had already progressed into the building. Units o/s approx 1 1/2 hours

1915 - Co 7, Co 2 Rescue, EMS 22, Medic 29 were dispatched to Tuscarora Twp, Rt 35 south of Reeds Gap, for a reported MVA. Box 7-02. Because Co 2 was tied up on the Valley Protein fire, next due would have been sent - Chief 71 arrived and placed Rescue available, so it all worked out.


03/22/09 - Early morning MVA destroys restaurant sign
02:30 - Co 2, EMS sent to Fermanagh Twp, Clubhouse Grill, for a reported MVA. Box 2-01. Rescue 29 marked out with 4, Chief 21-2 (Leiter) in the seat. JCCC advised of 1 vehicle into a sign, unknown injury. Medic 29 arrived to find no pt, searching the area. Units searched the perimeter with no person(s) found. 1 p/u left McDonalds, hopped the curb, and head-on into the restaurant sign in the parking lot. P/u totalled, sign destroyed. PSP arrived and searched the area also. Just as units were going to clear the scene, PSP had the driver fitted for "bracelets" in the Sheetz parking lot. Units avail.

21:46 - Co 2 was requested by EMS on the scene of a fall victim. Fermanagh Twp on Pennsylvania Ave. Rescue 29 marked out with 6, Chief 21-3 (K. Boreman) to the scene. Upon Co2 arrival, EMS had pt up and refusing treatment. Co 2 / EMS avail.

21:58 - Just getting back on station, R29 & EMS sent back to the Penn Ave residence for another fall. Units marked out and assisted EMS with lifting and pt. packaging for transport to ER. R29 avail.

03/19/09 - The 2 House runs 2 MVA's
08:14 - Co 2, Co 1, EMS 20, Medic 29 dispatched to Fermanagh Twp, Old Rt 22 & Cuba Mills Rd for a reported MVA. Box 2-01. Rescue 29 marked out with 4, Capt 21 (Adair) to the scene. JCCC reported 2 vehicles, unknown injuries. Capt 21 arrived and reported 2 vehicles off the roadway, 1 vehicle into a pole, no injuries. Medic 29, Co 1 placed avail.

Chief 11 (Hart) radioed in the accident, 2 vehicles, unknown injuries. Chief 21 (Zimmerman) arrived and advised 2 vehicles on the roadway, fluids/debris down, minor/no injuries. 03/16/09 - Rescue summoned to assis on an EMS run
18:51 - Rescue 29 requested by MICU 15-3 - Walker Twp - Swamp Rd off Rt 22 near Mexico. EMS o/s of an elderly unconscious person. R29 marked out with 5, Chief 21 (Zimmerman) and Capt 21-3 (J. Boreman) en route to scene. Co 2 personnel arrived and assisted EMS, box cleared shortly after

01:30 - Engine 22 requested by Command 7, to the scene of the barn fire in Lack Twp just south of Heritage Days. Engine 22 marked out w/ 4 and assisted at the scene with overhaul operations.


19:31 - Co 7, 5, 2, 22, Medic 29 dispatched to Lack Twp, Rt 35 near Cross Keys, local alarm for MVA involving motorcycle. Box 7-02. Rescue 29 marked out with 6, Chief 21-2 (Leiter) in the seat. JCCC advised of a motorcycle involved with injury. EMS arrived to find a poss intoxicated rider, no other injuries. ALS, R29 placed avail, E52 to reduce their rate, PSP to expedite

23:50 - Co 7, 5, 1, 2, 22, 20, Franklin, Perry, and Cumberland Co units sent to Lack Twp, Rt 75 south of Heritage Days, for a reported barn fire. 2nd alarm Box 7-03. Truck 27 marked out with 6, Capt 21 (Adair) in the seat. Co7 firefighter o/s with a well involved barn fire. Chief 71 (Baumgardner) requested addition tankers and 2 fill sites. Units o/s approx 5 1/2 hrs.

03/11/09 - The 2 House starts a busy Wednesday
10:05 - Co 2, Co 1, EMS 20, Medic 1 dispatched to Fermanagh Twp, Rt 322 westbound on the 100mph hill, for a reported MVA. Box 2-07. Rescue 29 marked out with 4, Chief 21-2 (Leiter) in the seat. JCCC advised of multiple vehicles, unknown conditions. Chief 21-3 (K. Boreman) arrived to advise 2 vehicles blocking the roadway, fluids & debris down. R29 arrived and de-energized/fluid control. E22 handled traffic, Co 1 placed avail. Units o/s approx 20 mins, released by PSP

JCCC advised of 2 vehicles, unknown injuries. Chief 21-3 (K. Boreman) arrived to report 2 vehicles off the roadway, (-) fluids, (-) debris - EMS to check out a shaken up child. Chief 21-3 held EMS non-emergency and placed the remained of the box avail.

03/06/09 - Hosehold chemicals summon Co2 to Mexico
19:02 - Co 2 dispatched to the village of Mexico -2 doors from the Post Office- for ventilation of a structure. Box 2-02. Truck 27 rersponded with 6, Capt 21-2 (Geedy) in the seat. EMS was dispatched for a reported sick person, they arrived to find a female was cleaning the bathroom and overcome by fumes, requesting FD for ventilation - strong odor of chemicals inside. Structure vented, pt refused, box cleared.

03/03/09 - Minor MVA sents units to Helltown Rd
16:25 - Co 2, Co 1 sent to Walker Twp. Helltown Rd - just past the Redrock Rd intersection - for a reported single vehicle MVA. Box 2-02. Rescue 29 marked out with 5, Chief 21-2 (Leiter) in the seat. JCCC advised of a single vehicle off the road, single occupant out of the vehicle bleeding from the face. Chief 21 (Zimmerman) arrived and confirmed dispatch, holding box to Co 2. Units o/s approx 15 mins

03/02/09 - AFA on Airport Drive alerts Co 2 and 1st alarm units
12:52 - Co 2, 1, 4, 5, EMS 20 dispatched to Airport Drive for a residential fire alarm. Second call reporting false trip. Capt 21 was en route to the scene. Chief 11-3 spoke to the homeowner, confirmed false trip - Box placed available at 1256.

17:07 - Co 2, Co 1, EMS 20 dispatched to 419 Cuba Mills Rd for a reported chimney fire. Box 2-03. Engine 22 marked out with 6, Chief 21-2 (Leiter) in the seat. Chief 21 (Zimmerman) to the scene. JCCC advised the caller reported fire from the chimney, 2nd call reported fire poss out. Chief 21 arrived with light smoke from the chimney, holding box to Co 2 and EMS. Units o/s approx 30 mins

03/01/09 - Basement fire starts off the month of March for the 2 House
-Co 2, 1, 4, EMS 20 dispatched to Old Rt 22 past the drive ins for a reported basement fire. Engine 22 marked out with 6, Chief 21-2 (Leiter) in the seat. Chief 21 (Zimmerman) arrived on scene with nothing evident from the outside. Upon investigation, found a temporary electrical service wire running into the basement to have melted and caught fire. Slight extension under the siding and plywood of the house. Engine 22's crew cleared the structure while Truck 27's crew made quick work out of the outside of the structure - opening the wall up and checking for extension. PPV Fan was set up to clear the smoke from the structure. Box cleared in approximately 30 minutes.
