Engine 22 transfers to Mifflin County, med assists, and helps out EMS 12

Initial dispatch @ 1352 - Engine 22 requested to transfer to Mifflin County Station 15 (Junction) due to structure fire. While en route to the transfer, Mifflin County contacted E22 @ 1420 and requested them to respond, medical assist due to weather conditions, assisting Ambulance 12-1 on scene at Packetboat Rd. E22 cancelled just before arriving on scene.

At 1426, Engine 22 was requested to the scene of the structure fire for manpower. Engine 22 arrived on scene at staging. Before units could be though into the scene, Engine 22 assisted EMS 12 with removing Rehab 12-1 from the snow.Video :) After Rehab 12-1 was removed, E22 proceeded to the scene to assist.

Initial dispatch @ 1814 - Co 2, Co 1 tanker, EMS 20 dispatched to Walker Twp, Weis Markets for a vehicle fire. Engine 22 responded at 1815 with 6. Chief 21 on scene with working engine compartment fire. E22's crew arrived on scene, stretched 1 3/4" handline and fire was extinguished. Control of fire was marked at 1829, box cleared by Chief 21-2 at 1842. Units available.

Initial dispatch @ 0630 - Co 2, 3, 1, 4, 5, EMS 20 dispatched to Fermanagh Twp, Airport Drive for a barn fire. Capt 31 arrived o/s POV reported fire endangering a structure.Units arrived o/s with a storage shed approximately 7x10 fully involved. MHC made quick work of the fire. Extensive overhaul followed to remove all the smoldering hay from the shed and douse hot spots. Chief 21 later cleared the box.

Co 2 responds for chimney fire on Jericho Rd

Initial dispatch @ 0717 - While o/s of the shed fire, Co 2 was notified of another call in their territory. Engine 22 was tied up supplying water to the fire so Engine 42 was dispatched to replace. Truck 27 was not put into service on the shed fire and responded with 4 to the chimney fire. Capt 21 arrived on scene light smoke from chimney. Engine 12-1 and 42 were o/s when Truck 27 arrived. Engine 12-1's crew proceeded inside to the basement to evaulate the chimney. Truck 27 went into service, dropped chains into the chimney. Chimeny was cleared of all debris and hotspots. Capt 21 placed the box in service.

Co 2 responds for MVCs on US Hwy 322

Initial dispatch @ 1630 approx - Co 2, EMS 20 dispatched to US Hwy 322 W/B top of 100 MPH hill for a vehicle off the roadway, into the embankment, with injuries. Units arrived with occupants out of vehicle, inside another vehicle keeping warm. One patient complaining of back pain. Pt was fully emobilized and transported BLS to Lewistown Hospital. The operator of the vehicle was transported to Lewistown Hospital, BLS, for minor back pain and evaluation. PSP arrived, box cleared.

Co 2 notified of second MVC on US Hwy 322 - nothing found

Initial dispatch @ XXXX - Juniata County 911 notified LT 21 of a possible second MVC on US Hwy 322 E/B just east of the Mifflintown Exit. Engine 22 responded to investigate and EMS 1 was dispatched mutual aid to EMS 20. Units went up and down both east and westbound lanes, nothing found. EMS 1 available, E22 returned back to the scene of the inital MVC until box placed in service.

Co 2 responds to Arch Rock Rd for two vehicle MVC

Initial dispatch @ XXXX - Co 2, EMS 20, Medic 29 dispatched to Arch Rock Rd for an MVC, reported two vehicles, unknown injuries, lost contact with caller, states he was checking for injuries. Units arrived o/s with two vehicles, into the embankment, one vehicle with moderate driver's side rear-end damage. Operator of struck vehicle was keeping warm inside other vehicle. R29's crew assisted EMS with extricating Pt onto backboard and into ambulance. One patient transported to Lewistown Hospital BLS. Medic 29 available. Units blocked off both ends of the accident scene until PSP and roll-backs arrived. Vehicles removed from roadway, box placed available.

Co 2 responds for possible furnce malfunction

Initial dispatch @ xxxx - Co 2 was dispatched to Jereco Road, per EMS, for a possible furnace malfunction. EMS was transporting a patient with chest pains and shortness of breath to the hospital and EMS noted an odor inside the residence. Units arrived on scene, firefighters entered the structure in full TOG and SCBA. Gas meter from Co 8 (Thompsontown) was used and extremely high levels of CO were found in the residence. Chief 21-2 made the decision to not allow homeowns to stay in the house until a professional came to examine their furnace. Box cleared. (The following day, MHC returned to the residence to clear out a completely clogged chimney which was the reason for the high levels of CO).
