01/29/10 - Wildfire in Spruce Hill Twp
09:10 - Co 5, 1 units dispatched to Spruce Hill Twp, 727 Half Moon Road -Sherlock Residence- for a reported wildfire. Box 5-02. At 0917, Co 2, 3, and 7 were dispatched for non-responding units. Engine 22 marked out with 4, Chief 21 (Leiter) in the seat. Co5 units o/s with over 1/2 acre burning but contained. Co2 and Co7 were placed available.

01/28/10 - Tree down to start off
15:22 - Co 2 and EMS were sent to Fermanagh Twp. near Rt 35 N & Ridge Rd, for a reported tree down. Box 2-01. Engine 22 marked out with 4, Chief 21 (Leiter) in the seat. JCCC advised of a tree down on some wires. E22 arrived and removed the leaning tree limb. Box cleared.

16:54 - Co 2 and EMS were sent to Walker Twp, intersection of William Penn Hwy & Fairman Rd, for reports of wires arcing. Box 2-02. Engine 22 marked out with 5, Capt 21-3 (Stottle) in the seat. E22 arrived and reported fuse issue on a transformer pole. Pole number given and PPL notified.

01/27/10 - MVA on Rt 35
13:35 - Co 2, 1, 20 dispatched to Fermanagh Twp. Rt 35, approx 1 mile north of Sheetz. Box 2-01. Rescue 29 marked out with 3, Chief 21 (Leiter) in the seat. JCCC advised of 2 vehicles, no injuries, fluids down. R29 arrived to advise 2 vehicles partially off the roadway, all occupants out walking around, minor to no injuries. Units o/s approx 15mins.

01/25/10 - Tree down
05:13 - Co 2, EMS 20 dispatched to Fermanagh Twp, Rt 35 north of Happy Hollow Road, for a reported tree down. Box 2-01. Engine 22 marked out with 2, Chief 21 (Leiter) in the seat. JCCC advised to be just north of Happy Hollow Rd. E22 arrived to find a small tree, partially on the roadway. E22 made quick work of the tree, box cleared within 10mins

01/18/10 - Multi alarm apartment fire
00:04 - Truck 27 dispatched to Lewistown Boro - 132 S. Main Street - Elsesser Apartments - 2nd alarm for building fire. Box 13-10. Truck 27 marked out with 6, Chief 21 (Leiter) in the seat. JCCC advised fire on 2 floors with multiple people trapped. Truck 27 arrived and crew did second searches on the upper floors. Crews o/s made multiple civilian saves, nice work by all. After the Truck was done o/s, they transferred to United Station 11 until they cleared.

01/15/10 - 2 cancellations for the day
10:03 - Co 2, 1, 20 dispatched to Walker Twp. Rt 322 west bound, approx 1/8 of a mile west of the Port Royal exit, local alarm for unknown type fire. Box 2-08. Engine 22 marked out with 3, Chief 21 (Leiter) in the seat. JCCC advised 1 caller could see flames from the highway, unknown origin. FP1 o/s with a large controlled burn at Frantz's Tree Farm, box cleared.

13:39 - Truck 27 dispatched to assist Co 7 - Tuscarora Twp 1560 McKinley Road. Box 7-02. Truck 27 marked out with 5, Chief 21-3 (Geedy) in the seat. Co 7 units o/s placed Truck avail shortly after dispatch.


01/13/10 - Mutual aid to Co8
04:06 - Co 2 dispatched to assist Co8, Walker Twp. Rt 322 W/B near Treens, for a reported MVA with entrapment. Box 8-06. Before Co2 signed on, Medic 29 arrived and reported 1 minor injury, no entrapment. Chief 81-2 (Shearer) o/s placed Co 2 avail


01/12/10 - LZ Operations give the 2 House a run
19:37 - Co 2 dispatched to Mifflintown Airport for LZ Operations for EMS 9/Medic 1. EMS transporting a patient actively having a stroke. Engine 22 marked out with 6, Capt 21-2 (Groninger) in the seat. After Engine 22 and EMS arrived at LZ, ETA was 10 minutes. MHC crew assisted transporting the patient from the ambulance to the helicopter. Helicopter airborne, box available.

01/10/10 - Crash near new Weis Store starts the day off
11:17 - Co 2, EMS 20 dispatched to Wm Penn Hwy (Old Rt 22) area of the new Weis Store for an MVC. Rescue 29 marked out with 6, Chief 21 (Leiter) in the seat. Reported two vehicles, no injuries, debris and fluids down. Chief 21-2 (Boreman) arrived on scene stating MVC is in front of the car wash, east-bound lanes blocked, confirming no injuries, debris and fluid down. Engine 22 held in quarters. MHC crew cleaned up debris and controlled fluids prior to wrecker service arriving. Vehicles removed from roadway, box cleared.

17:09 - Co 2, EMS 20, Medic 29 dispatched to Rt 35 area of Sheetz for an MVC unknown injuries. Rescue 29 marked out with 6, Cheif 21 (Leiter) in the seat. Call from a Port Royal EMS member at Sheetz stating there is no crash near Sheetz. Box cleared.

01/03/10 - Early morning EMS assist
05:16 - Co 2 was dispatched in place of Co 1, Milford Twp in Juniata Haven, 171 Horning Street to assist EMS with a fall victim. Rescue 29 marked out with 3, Chief 21 (Leiter) in the seat. JCCC advised of a 70 y/o/m that fell and could not get up. R29 arrived and helped EMS to get the pt off the floor. R29 avail

01/02/10 - 1st working fire of the year
18:02 - Co 2, 1, 4, 5, 6, 8 dispatched to William Penn Highway, just east of the WJUN radio station, 1st alarm for structure fire. Box 2-02. Engine 22 marked out with 6, Chief 21 (Leiter) in the seat. JCCC advised of possibly 2 outbuildings on fire, endangering other structures. E22 arrived and reported 2 out buildings fully involved, 1 barn starting to burn, 1 dwelling endangered, 2nd alarm tankers and transfers added to the box. E22 swung the wagon pipe and knocked down the advancing fires, E12-1 and 82-1 pulled handlines to the barn and the dwelling exposure. E12-2 had a fillsite at Walker Access and E62 had 2nd fillsite at Muskrat Springs Access. The fires were contained to the buildings of origin, the barn was saved with little fire damage to the A side and the house was saved with no damage. Crews remained on scene to extinguish hot spots and finish overhaul, total o/s approx 2hrs.

23:03 - Co 2, 20 dispatched to Walker Twp, near the intersection of Auker Rd and Smith Rd, for a reported MVA. Box 2-01. Rescue 29 marked out with 5, Capt 21-2 (Groninger) in the seat. JCCC advised of 1 vehicle into a pole, poss no injury. R29 arrived o/s and confirmed dispatch. 1 Jeep sheered of a pole, no injury. Units remained o/s until vehicle was cleared from the scene. Units o/s approx 1 hr

01/01/10 - Early morning AFA
03:05 - Co 2, 1, M15, 4, 6, 8, 20 dispatched to Fermanagh Twp. 650 Airport Drive, for a reported AFA. Box 2-03. Engine 22 marked out with 6, Chief 21-2 (K. Boreman) in the seat. JCCC advised of the last residence on Airport Drive, alarm company reported smoke detector activation in the basement. E22 arrived with normal conditions on the exterior A/D corner. E22 crew went to investigate, had an odor of smoke towards the C side interior. Further investigation found smoke conditions in the basement, no fire. MC Eng 15-1 was next unit o/s, their crew established PPV, then laddered the D side to check the chimney. Box was held to units that were o/s at that time. The homeowner was in Florida, but a caretaker was o/s and appeared to be an issue with one of the pellet fed boilers overloaded. Chimney was clean, smoke was cleared, and the caretaker was going to have the boilers taken care of. Box cleared.
